“FundingWare” is a crowdfunding concept (like Kickstarter, Ulule, Tipee, Patreon) or crowdfunding to help product development.

No specific underwriting obligation. You give what you want. Knowing that the more donors and / or more you give, the faster the product will be available.

The computer system we use imposes a deadline. We need one … so we put one, and it’s arbitrary. At the end of this date, if the quota is not reached we put a new deadline … until the quota is reached. If the quota is reached before a deadline, it is of course no longer necessary to wait longer: the project is fully funded and the product becomes immediately available.

In fact: This is where you come in: Make a maximum of adverts around you. Because the more people, the more subsciptions and the faster the download is released. If the goal is reached in 24 hours, the next day you’ll download it.

Hence the interest of getting the message across;)

In direct sales some products exceed 100/150 euros. Here you finance for example up to 5 € (all): you get it in the end for 5 €. good, no?

I do not teach you anything. Creating and designing programs takes a long time and is not profitable during this time. only sales from releases / downloads are supposed to.

But you know it well now, when a program goes live on D-Day at H, less than 24 hours later, it is already available at warez. Software developers are like everyone else. They need to make a living.

The choice was made to use a concept of pre-release financing (a bit like early access games or self-financed by solutions like kickstarter) to guarantee a return to work, allowing later to offer the product in free access. the warez then no longer has any interest;)

Everybody wins. the developer is thanked by funding. You get the product at a much lower price than most direct selling products. Updates are free (for the most active / generous contributors).

Yes and no.

For subscribers:

Access in priority and in private to the product (a duration up to 1 month in advance).

Free access to updates (for the most generous subscribers).

The most active contributors will even be entitled to some new (and / or existing) products without having to contribute again.

Non subscribers:

Access to the download of the product AFTER the priority period of the subscribers.

No access to updates (new subscriptions).

The law, in all countries, states that a paid product must be delivered to the customer who has paid for the product. This law is international. A payment always has a counter-part which is the invoice or the ticket proving the payment (number of the transaction blue card, number of the transaction Paypal, etc.), that is before reception or at the time of the reception of the product. This relationship between a payment and an invoice is an explicit form of contract in due form between the customer and the distributor or the manufacturer of the product. The case of the subscription is no exception. These are the terms on which the subscriber pays his or her anticipated contribution. If the time of manufacture of the product is pushed back by necessities, a new date must then be clearly announced to the customer. And this a number of times that can not be excessive, and this new date is in a future that it too can not be excessive. It will be. The deadline may be extended two or three times (or even more) depending on the success or failure of the operation, as we saw in answers 03 and 07 above. But it will always be within a reasonable margin, which can only be of the order of those found in any software development, and also avoid the subscriber to end up with a product already obsolete the day of delivery. In a subscription, whatever it is, it depends if everyone puts theirs, encouraging the developer … and encouraging people around to accelerate the funding to achieve the goal as soon as possible.

We tried Patreon. We were not convinced by the system. too confusing and impossible to ask for contributions on a case-by-case basis.

That said we keep our account Patreon. You can always contribute to it. But it will be a global contribution to help MARCEL studios entirely; not get a specific product.

As for Kickstarter, Ulule and other they have a real deadline. If past this date the goal is not reached: they keep your money for them, the developer gets nothing; So the product disappears.

For contributors, having exclusivity on the product: You will get an external link. It will not be available on the site.

Subsequently, when it becomes public: It will be available in download link on the product page and via the “free products” section on this site;)

And remember that contributors will have priority and advantage compared to non-contributors on all treatments related to these products, whether on their delivery, their updates, their subsequent benefits, any banks of presets for their products, etc.
